Bratislava, September 28, 2026 – In August, toll collection for the use of designated road sections in Slovakia reached 28.9 million euros excluding VAT. During the month of August, the system processed more than 52 million toll transactions, with vehicles traveling approximately 160 million kilometers on the toll road network. Since the beginning of the year, carriers have paid more than 251 million euros excluding VAT in tolls.
On average, the SkyToll Electronic Toll System recorded more than 17 000 vehicles on the toll road network per day. As of August 31, 2026, SkyToll had put a total of 142 000 on-board units into circulation, and 36% of them were used by Slovak carriers.
In August 2026, mobile checkpoints recorded 299 cases of violations of the Toll Collection Act on designated road sections. An incorrect number of axles in the combination of vehicles ranked among the most frequently occurring violations, this violation was detected in 142 cases and led to an incorrect calculation of the toll for the sections traveled. In another 79 cases, the mobile checkpoint personnel discovered that the on-board units were switched off.
The operators of the Electronic Toll System customer line received a total of 2 119 calls last month. Of these, 42% were answered in Slovak and the remainder in one of the five official languages of the customer line.
